The Silken Prison

Iris Chang, the Chinese-American author of The Rape of Nanking, committed suicide in 2004.  Her research on this book and on her planned fourth book (about the Bataan Death March in WW II) were very emotionally difficult for her.  “The Silken Prison,” written in both English and Chinese, explores the psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of Iris’s work on The Rape of Nanking.
